Opening night of the performance took place on 1st of December 2008

Action of operetta takes place in Vienna at 1900th, during government of one of the favorite Kaisers of Austria – Franz Josef.

«Spring Parade» firstly appeared at the cinema in 1934 with brilliant music of Robert Stolz which immediately became popular in Vienna. In 1940 on the screen appeared second movie based on the same story, but under another title – «Spring waltz» and with participation of marvelous Dina Durbin. But success of previous two movies wasn’t limited to this. In 1955 on the screens appeared one more «Spring parade», but with participation of outstanding actress Remi Schnaider. And music by Robert Stolz has acquired more and more admirers.

Success of movie contributed to the fact that composer and authors of libretto in 1964 changed movie script into operetta and its first production took place on 25th of March of 1964 on the stage of Volksopera and had a big success. From that time “Spring parade” is one of the most popular operettas not only in Austria. With great success it was staged in France and Belgium.

The performance is recommended for viewers aged 12 and above
