“The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” are the most popular novels for children that were created by Mark Twain. On the opinion of Ernest Hemingway all modern American literature has come from these books.
Sergey Banevich, well-known Saint-Petersburg composer, author of numerous works for children, was inspired by this book and wrote music for the performance that was staged for the first time on the stage of Theatre of Musical comedy in 1971. After decades theatre returned to this work, and in 2002 on the Studio stage appeared new version of favourite production for children.
It’s the small raft swinging on the powerful waters of Mississippi. The river is going farther and farther turning into the thin thread on the map. And forever from the small town Sent-Petersberg to the big world swim away eternally young boys of the “funny mister Twain” – Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
What a happy fortune these heroes have! For the many generations they were constant friends of the childhood and each year find new. For Tom and Huck life above all is merry boyish perception of the outward things. Tom is visionary, dreamer, book lover; Huck takes a soberer view of things at life, life has already turned to him with its cruel side. But both of them are searcher for adventures, truth lovers, leaders, romanticists, irreconcilable and childishly naive, full of life. These boys and girls are wonderfully fought out by Mark Twain and it’s already many tens of years stay favorite of children in all corners of the world.

The performance is recommended for viewers aged 6 and above
