The premiere of the musical about the life of the great movie actor and director was held on Broadway in September 2012.  it's one of the most recent American musicals. The plot - the production of performance "Limelight" (premiered at the theater at the University of California at San Diego in 2010). Name of the play had the same title as the film by Charlie Chaplin released in 1952 and tells about the last years of the clown Calvero.
Libretto and music of Broadway musical "Chaplin" was written by composer Christopher Curtis based on his book "The History of Charlie Chaplin," co-authored with Thomas Mian, a three-time winner of "Tony" and the creator of a libretto for musicals, which had success on the Broadway. The authors have tried to figure out what is behind the myth of the genius that forever changed the world of cinema ...
