History of theatre of Musical comedy began in 1929 when Nikolay Spiridonov became conductor of just opened theatre. Outstanding, original musician put the base of performing mastery of such uneasy genre as operetta that put the principles of high professional level of musical culture of theatre productions and continued best traditions of world school of conducting.

Then his traditions were picked up by such outstanding musicians as Mikhail Volovatz, Nikolai Rabinovich and Georgiy Doniyah. Being under direction of these remarkable musicians orchestra of theatre has been always in perfect performing shape and attracted attention of not only operetta lovers, but also of professional musical society.

One of the most interesting periods of theatre was connected with coming of conductor Vladimir Rylov. Indeed his participation in productions "Marriage of Krechinsky”, “Truffaldino from Bergamo”, “Case” let recognize these performances among musical public as samples, and original at the same time.
